Honoring a Tulip Expert: Marcy Simbro-Woodhouse

If you’ve ever admired the beauty of Pella’s tulip beds, chances are you’ve seen Marcy’s work in bloom.

Marcy has worked for the City of Pella for 17 years, planting and managing over 400 different tulip varieties across town. With a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Iowa State University, her deep knowledge of plants and design has helped shape Pella’s gardens into what they are today. She’s also the creative mind behind the Chic Lady Blend, which continues to be a favorite among tulip lovers.

The Centennial Marcy Blend is a tribute to her dedication and artistry—perfectly timed for Pella’s centennial tulip celebration.

This curated trio combines color, texture, and bloom time for a show-stopping display from mid to late spring:
